How can I assure safety when I receive my RC Helicopter powered by Lithium Polymer Batteries?
I have heard these batteries can catch fire easily. I just ordered a micro helicopter that is powered by a lithium polymer battery. Should I watch it when it is charging as well as drain the battery before storage? Please let me know. If I drain the battery, is it now safe?
with Lipo batteries some instructions follows
-never discharge lower than 3v a cell (if it cant get off the ground but the motor still runs it means its time for a recharge)don't drain it till the motor stops (lipo is best stored at haft charge when not in use)
-use recommended charger plus they have safety voltage regulator so not to over charge
-don't short circuit the batteries they'll blot up and explode
optional
Storage - metal box ,Lipo Sack (should it expload its contain within the container)
other things
never leave your charger unattended charging even it has a auto cut off
