Why Does My Mini Infa-Red RC Helicopter cut off?
The other day i brought a micro infa-red helicopter. i have used it about 10 times but today when i came to play with it, it kept stopping in mid air.
i have charged it fully
i am indoors
i am NOT near any thing that may inter fear e.g microwaves, tvs, computers etc.
————————————————————————————————
What Exactly Happens ?
i charge heli for about 30mins
turn on the controller then the heli
put the heli on the floor
push forwards on controller
the heli goes up then after literally 2 seconds it freezes and drops
Someone Please help i don't have the reipct and i spent 40 bucks on this
It sounds like the signal is getting corrupted. Does it happen every time the same way? Check the receiver out also If you have charged the controller adequately, and there is no interference the problem has to be in the unit itself.
The cutting out is either a signal problem, or a "safety valve" cutting in because of some other problem.

It might be getting too far away from the signal from the remote.
Test the remote distance on the ground by enlisting someones help - walk farther and farther away from it each time and when the one holding it can't feel it lifting off you know it won't work beyond that distance.

the behavior could be due to a bad li-poly battery… be careful over-charging the heli's li-po battery. you may have damaged it if you charged it over the recommended manufacturers time and they can explode if left charging unattended for a long time.
the transmitter (controller) usually runs on AA's. this could also cause the behavior if these batteries are run down.

hi, infared can also be affected by strong/bright light like floresent lighting etc. to check if your heli is faulty pop it on the floor & make the rotor spin but not enough to take off or hold the heli &make the rotor spin&see if it still cuts out,if it does then it could be a bad connection on the throttle stick on the transmitter, a dead motor or like the other guy said a bad battery. hope you get it working model helis are a fantastic hobby especially when you progress onto the bigger ones.
