Cost of a helicopter?
I'm doing an essay in my college class.
I was given the topic of AVIATION and AIRCRAFT and have the whole thing layed out pretty good.
I just want to know how much the average cost for a basic helicopter would cost?
I'm searching through google but only find these sites for RC type of helicopters. Like TOYS.
I want to know how much the real passenger type ones are.
Just give me an idea and not any links or stupid comments.

And this is to OWN* a helicopter. Not just to ride in one or rent one.
It depends. Military ones can be several million dollars while personel helicopters can run hundreds of thousands of dollars.

All things considered, it varies a lot. A popular helo, the Bell 206 Jetranger, costs about $300 per flight-hour for fuel and maintenance (not including a pilot). This information is from 2006, so it would probably cost a good bit more due to higher fuel costs. The cost to buy this model is not posted on their website, so you would have to call them. Also, you have to figure in insurance and hangar fees, etc. From google, I found a range of prices. Expect to pay around $1.5 million for a nice, late model version.
