how do rc helicopter brakes work?
I have seen many rc helicopters online and I have noticed some features such as brakes. How are the brakes used? Or is that just an automatic function of a rc heli? Also, I would like to know some local Helicopter stores like radio shack, because I really want to buy a Fly Eagle. Thanks.
I can't answer for R/C birds, BUT…
A rotor brake on a real helicopter is a mechanical device that can be used to STOP the rotors, or permit the engines to be started and run-up without the rotors turning (it locks the rotors).
It would NOT be used in flight… stopping forward motion is done by bringing the cyclic back.

They just throttle down, and the craft slows immediately.
